Lumbini Development Trust 28.Dec.2011 Visit Lumbini 2012 Announced by Prime Minister Dr. Bhattarai Visit Lumbini 2012 Announced by the Prime Minister Bhattarai Right Honorable Prime Minister Dr. Babu Ram Bhattarai formally announced Visit Lumbini 2012 on December 1, 2011 in Lumbini, the holy birthplace of Sakyamuni Buddha and world heritage site. The event organized by Nepal Government at the request of Lumbini Development Trust will be inaugurated on 14th January 2012 and will be celebrated with various kinds of programmes throughout the year round. The Prime Minister Bhattarai was welcomed by Culture Minister Honorable Gopal Kiraty, Vice Chairman Acharya Karma Sangbo Sherpa, Project Chief Er. Temba Sherpa and staff of Lumbini Development Trust. Office Chiefs of different districts also warmly welcomed the arrival of the Prime Minister.

WASHINGTON DC, JUL 26 - The Nepali Embassy in Washington has placed promotional posters of Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) 2011 in metro buses Washington DC targeting summer tourists. Nepali ambassador to US Dr Shankar Sharma formally launched the program by visiting metro-bus station at 44th Street, the embassy said in a press statement received on Tuesday. Around 15 million domestic and international tourists visit Washington DC every year. “The poster displays cultural and natural diversity of Nepal. We are hopeful that it will be effective for tourism promotion,” the statement from the embassy said.

China plans to help Nepal develop Buddha’s birthplace at Lumbini Reuters, Jun 16, 2011 Kathmandu, Nepal -- A Chinese-backed foundation and Nepal’s government plan to transform Lord Buddha’s birthplace in southern Nepal into a magnet for Buddhists in the same way as Mecca is to Muslims and the Vatican for Catholics. The Asia Pacific Exchange and Cooperation Foundation plans to raise $3 billion at home and abroad to build temples, an airport, a highway, hotels, convention centres and a Buddhist university in the town of Lumbini, about 171 km (107 miles) southwest of Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. The foundation, blessed by the Chinese government, signed a memorandum
China rolls out discounts for 1st National Tourism Day (May19)
BEIJING -- From offering ticket discounts to organizing activities, China's cities and provinces are gearing up for the country's first national tourism day. On National Tourism Day, which falls on Thursday this year, tourists will get half-price tickets for all scenic spots in north China's Shanxi province, according to the provincial tourism bureau. In the island province of Hainan, free tickets and discount coupons will be distributed around the island's west coast, and all tourists taking public transportation from Thursday to Saturday will get half-price tickets for the Li and Miao ethnic groups' cultural tourism zone. Libraries, museums and stadiums in the county of Qionghai will be open to local residents free of charge for one week.

*Visa unless mentioned in above included items

*All items of a personal nature, soft drinks/mineral waters/alcoholic beverages, tips, emergency expenses.
* Porterage charge everywhere 
3. Baggage:
All baggage and personal effects are at all times the client's responsibility, even when carried by porters. Pigeon Travels will not be responsible for any loss, damage, or accident to any luggage or property even when carried by porters and support vehicles.
4. Flights:
Any flights forming part of your trip will be subject to the general conditions of carriage of the airline concerned.
5. Health of Clients:
It is suggested that each of you check your health before the trip booking. There is no hiking or trekking on most of our tours unless specified, but good health is required, regardless of age. Person 70 or above years old must check their health and present FIT TO TRAVEL certificate. 
6. Guide/Tour escort
Every group will be accompanied by English speaking local guides. Other language guide supplement Usd 15 per day in the city
And Usd 30 per day if overnight required
15 % more if tour operates in Oct/Nov month
Guide will not be available during intercity long drive/train/flight. Please ask if which needed cost extra.
7.Hotels:
The standard of hotel will be mentioned in the included items. All hotels are not star rated but similar to them. Single or triple sharing rooms cannot be guaranteed unless booked in advance. 
Note! The quality of hygiene and cleaning does not always reach the western standards.
8. Price changes
After the conclusion of the contract the tour operator has the right to increase or reduce the agreed price of the tour, because of the following:
a) A change in taxes and other public charges affecting the price of the package,
b) Changes in carrier costs that the tour operator cannot influence
c) A change in the rate of exchange which affects the costs of the package
d) A charge in the hotel/transport rate increase
9.Insurance
For your own protection make sure that you have valid travel insurance when travelling. Make sure your insurance cover helicopter rescue charge also wherever applicable.
10.Meal Plan:
The hotel breakfast is typically a continental buffet breakfast, though the contents of the buffet table vary slightly from one hotel to another. Our rate normally includes breakfast only in the hotel. 
Half board is Map ( B+D) & full board (AP=B+L+D) supplement exclude lunch in day one and last.
11.Baggage and Porterage:
Make sure the baggage allowance before leaving home/Hotel. Porterage at airport and hotel is not included. Baggage is carried at owner's risk. Pigeon Travel - Nepal is not responsible for loss, theft or damage. Baggage insurance is strongly recommended.
6. Booking procedures
To book tour on a definite basis, we shall initially require passport details of all clients & a 20% deposit (Minimum Usd 100/ It includes Usd 100 per person is non refundable deposit). The balance no later than 30 days before leaving home. Above 20 % does not apply for air ticket price which we need 100% at the time of booking.
12. REFUND
We will refund amount paid less non refundable deposit as per cancelation policy. After commencement of Travel, no refund in full or in part will be given for services includes in the program, which are not utilized.
13.HOTEL CHECK IN - CHECK OUT TIME
Hotel Check in - Check out time is 12 noon. Extended check in - check out time may be granted subject to availability and agreement by the participating hotels. Room used until 6 PM subject to day use charge which is 50 % of room rate.
14.TRAVEL DOCUMENTS
It is the tour member’s responsibility to ensure that they have valid passports and visas, permits, where necessary.
15. LIABILITY
The prices are subject to amendment should the Transporters/ Hoteliers amend their rates prior to commencement of the tour PIGEON TRAVEL & TOURS (P) LTD, while undertaking tours, transportation, hotel accommodation and other services only act as an agent on the clear understanding that they shall not be, in any way responsible or liable for any accident, damage, loss, delay or inconvenience caused in connection with the travel facilities arranged by the Company, its employees or agents. All bookings are accepted and executed with utmost care, yet no responsibility is undertaken for any change or deviation on account of factors beyond our control.
16.Policy Regarding Cancellation / NO SHOW / EARLY DEPARTURE
In the event of cancellation of tour - due to any avoidable / unavoidable reason, we must be informed in writing. Cancellation charges would be effective from the date we receive advice in writing and cancellation charges would be as follows:-
• Before 60 days – No cancellation charge.
• From 60 days to 45 days - 10% of the total tour / service cost
• From 45 days to 15 days - 15% of the total tour / service cost
• From 15 days to 07 days - 25% of the total tour / service cost
• From 07 days to 02 days (48 hrs) - 50% of the total tour / service cost
• From 48 hours to arrival or NO SHOW - NO REFUND

In case of Special Train Journey and peak season hotel bookings a separate cancellation policy is applicable (which would be advised as and when required).
In case you cancel the trip after commencement, refund would be restricted to a limited amount, which too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers/contractors we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation & missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.
Note: Air ticket cancellation charge will be as per airlines's rule
