DeHavilland DHC 6-300 Twin Otter
The Canadian built DeHavilland DHC 6-300 “Twin Otter” has proved to be one of the most successful Short Take Off and Landing (STOL) aircraft ever made. Over 800 aircraft were built and released for operation. At present over 500 of these aircrafts are still in operation worldwide.
The Twin Otter aircraft is perfectly suited for operations in Nepal’s mountainous terrain where the runways are often less than 1800 feet in length and unpaved. It is a rugged 19 seater aircraft powered by the famous Pratt & Whitney PT6A-27 engines on each wing. The DHC 6-300 aircraft has been successfully flying in Nepal for over 25 years and is the only true STOL aircraft in commercial operation in Nepal.

This aircraft has the record for the first winter rescue for a small aircraft from the South Pole when a Twin Otter belonging to Kenn Borek Air, a Canadian charter company, rescued a seriously ill scientist from his base in the South Pole.

Yeti Airlines at present operates four DeHavilland DHC 6-300 Twin Otters for its flights to the mountain regions of Nepal - ferrying both passengers and cargo – providing a vital life line for the remote regions of the country that have no motorable road access.


SAAB 340B
Yeti Airlines has recently added three third generation turboprops, the SAAB 340B aircrafts to its fleet. These Swedish built pressurized aircraft seat upto 34 passengers and are powered by two General Electric CT7-9B engines.
The SAAB 340B aircraft is a regional airliner with a cabin that allows for passenger comfort. The seat pitch allows for ample leg space and there is also a lavatory available for passenger use. Around 350 of these aircrafts were released for commercial service and the SAAB 340B is recognized as one of the most successful aircraft in its category.

Yeti’s SAAB 340B are utilized for the Everest sight seeing mountain flights and for regional flights to destinations as Pokhara, Biratnagar, Bhadrapur, Bhairahawa and Nepalgunj. Yeti Airlines chose SAAB 340B for its reliability and for passenger comfort
