Just 13 kilometres downriver
from Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge on the edge of Royal Chitwan National
Park, Tiger Mountain Tharu Lodge is a resort in a tranquil garden
setting overlooking lush green forests. The Lodge is inspired by the
lifestyle and rich culture of the local Tharu people and offers a
myriad of activities for the adventurous traveller, including
elephant safaris , jungle walks, bird watching , village exploration
by ox cart, sunset watches, horse riding, tennis, badminton,table
tennis and swimming.River safaris are possible for guests staying 2
nights or more.
Traditional local dancing is performed by villagers and staff before
dinner.Situated on high ground near the National Park, the Lodge is
built in the ethnic architectural style of the indigenous Tharu
people and consists of two 'longhouses' constructed with local
materials -- timber, elephant grass,mud, cow dung and clay.The
twelve spacious and comfortable rooms have attached bathrooms with
solar heated water. Each traditionally decorated room is furnished
with one queen-sized and one single bed as well as ceiling fans.
Nepalese and Western cuisine is prepared from Tiger Mountain Farms'
own fresh organic produce, and guests are welcome to visit the farm
to see their dinner growing. A fully stocked bar is open until the
last guest retires to bed. The Tharu Lodge takes pride in the

Nepal.The Tharu Lodge is one of 3 Tiger Mountain properties in the
Royal Chitwan National Park area, and is an interesting 2 hour game
trip by jeep, boat and ox cart from our main Tiger Tops Lodge. A
popular itinerary combining several days' stay at each of the
operations, i.e. Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge, Tiger Tops Tented Camp and
Tharu Lodge offers a variety of character, atmosphere and activities
where getting there is half the fun! (Transfers from one operation
to the next are by jeep, boat, elephant, and ox cart).Itineraries
for short visits of 1-2 days are possible, but trips of 3-7 days
combining all three properties are recommended. |
