Overview

The Trishuli River consider as a high commercial whitewater sports destination of Nepal due to its easy accessible. It is an excellent river for those who are looking for a day short rafting trip and short multi days trip without risk and challenge of big rapids with its beautiful scenery, peaceful environment and wonderful local cultural activities. In the monsoon season, water volume level rises up so the strength of the rapids increases and attracts rafters to challenge with its real adrenaline.
The river flows down through massive gorges towards southern direction and it cut its way through the 2000-meter high Mahavarat Range of mid-hill then leaves it when it spreads out over the great plain of the Ganges of Indian plate.

Season:: October through mid-December and March through early May are the best times. It is possible in winter, but you have to watch out for hypothermia. During monsoon (June through September), the white water sections are dangerous, but gentler stretches are runnable.

Location, Transportation and Timetable
The put-in point for Trisuli River Rafting/Kayaking is located just 3 to 3.5 hour drive west of Kathmandu, making it an excellent choice for short trips, or for those who are en route to Pokhara or Chitwan National Park.
The Trisuli can be rafted for 1 to 3 days, 15 - 60 km. Most people do the classic two day trip. The return journey to Kathmandu is 5 hours, to Pokhara is approximately 4 hours and to Chitwan is approximately 1 hour.
WhiteWater Nepal arranges private or tourist bus transportation to the put-in point, usually Charaudi. (This may differ for longer/shorter trips and depends on the season). Transportation from the take-out point of Trisuli river trip is also arranged to whatever destination is next for you.

The scenery of river Trishuli includes small gorges and a glimpse of the cable car leading to the famous Hindu Temple Manakamana.
For the most of the year the rapids encountered on the Trisuli are straightforward, easily negotiated and well spaced out. Trisuli river is an excellent river for those looking for a short river trip, without the challenge of huge rapids, but with some really exciting rapids, with beautiful scenery and a relatively peaceful environment. During the monsoon months the intensity of the rapids increases and attracts a radically different set of rafters. But there are sections for rafting during the monsoon for those who are looking for simply exciting trip!

Short Itinerary

One Day Package

7 Am: Pick up and transfer to tourist bus station.

7:30: Drive to rafting starting Point ( 70km)

10:00 to 1 Pm : Rafting 

And then drive back to Kathmandu or continue driving Pokhara or Chitwan.

2 Night 3 Days full Package. 

DAY 01: Departure from Kathmandu at 7:00am. by tourist coach. After 3 hours of bus ride, we reach at Malinga. You are welcomed by river guide & given briefing before start rafting trip. Lunch will be served at 12:30 at the river beach. After having lunch, again we proceed  our journey for next couple of hours. On the first day we encounter rapids Twinrock Ladies delight, Sweet-dream monsoon, Up-set, Good bye & surprise. Finally we stop at Fishling for over-night stay. Dinner is served at 8:00pm.   ( L,D)                

DAY 02: Breakfast will be served at 8:00am. and after that we pack-up all gear & be ready for second day adventure. On that day, we pass by rapids, Butterfly, Electric, S bend & Pinbal. Lunch will be served at 12:30. At last we stop at 5 Kilo for night rest. dinner is served at  8:00pm.(B,L,D)

DAY 03: As soon as we finished breakfast, we get ready for last day adventure. It will be nearly 2 hours river journey. Coffee pot is the great rapid of this section. Lunch will be served where this trip ends and transport will be arranged to your own destination. As being easily accessible river, we can do rafting from baireni to Malekhu on     monsoon. (June through September).(B)

Equipment List

What you wear and bring on the river can make or break a trip. Depending on the weather and difficulty of whitewater you will need various gear. Wetsuits and splash jackets are generally provided when the weather is cold or the whitewater is advanced. Since getting wet is part of any river trip, bring clothing that you don't mind being saturated with river water. Synthetic materials dry quickly and keep you warm even when they're damp, but on really hot days, a cotton t-shirt helps keep you cool. There is generally not room on one-day trips to bring a change of clothes on the river.

Clothes:
Swimsuit: two pieces are preferable for women, but sometimes synthetic underware are better for bottoms so you don't get "boater's butt" Shorts: quick drying like board shorts or running shorts. They can double as a swimsuit for men. Thighs tend to get sunburned quickly and longer shorts are the best sunscreen possible.Tennis shoes or water sport sandals like Keen, Teva, or Chaco, or wetsuit booties with soles--NO flip-flops unless you want your guide to duct-tape them to your feet!!!
Shirts: long sleeved shirts work best for sun protection, cotton makes you colder
Baseball cap or visor (with strap) for sun protection
Sometimes REQUIRED (and always nice) for cold or early season trips:
Wetsuit* (for either cold weather or more diffcult whitewater)
Paddle jacket/ splash jacket*
Hat and/or gloves (wool or fleece for both)
Long underwear: fleece, Capilene, Smartwool or Polypropylene work best
Sweater: fleece or wool
Socks to keep your feet warm: synthetic (Polypropylene) or wool --NO COTTON!!!
