Myanmar Airways to connect Yangon–Kolkata from Dec 1
Starting from December 1, Myanmar Airways International will operate two times weekly service between Yangon and Kolkata on Airbus A320 and A319 aircraft. These flights between the two destinations will be operated on Thursdays and Sundays. MAI currently flies between Yangon and Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Gaya, Guangzhou, and between Mandalay and Bangkok. An official statement from MIA stated that Myanmar Airways is offering very attractive introductory fares on Kolkata to Yangon sector.

Following the powerful earthquakes of April and May 2015, the extent and severity of earthquake-related structural damage and geologic hazard were widely believed to be limited, but remained unknown. With funding from SAMARTH-NMDP and on behalf of the government of Nepal through the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, an assessment team was dispatched from June 25 to July 2, 2015 to this region to observe and record seismic damages that occurred along the main trekking routes and select villages as a result of the earthquakes. The team was comprised of a structural engineer and an engineering geologist, supported by a professional mountain guide and local conservation officer familiar with the region. The objective of the rapid reconnaissance of the region was to a) develop a baseline understanding of the extent of earthquake-related damage, b) advise on the overall trekking safety of the region’s routes and c) provide recommendations on repairs or risk mitigation that will inform tourism recovery and commercial readiness strategies that are currently being developed by the government, its international development partners, and Nepal’s tourism industry at large. The aim of these efforts is to promote tourism back to Nepal which will support the nation’s economic recovery. The findings of the structural and geotechnical rapid assessment of the region are summarized in this report.

In an Instagram post published on the official @NatGeoTravel account last evening, he told how eagerly he wants to revisit Nepal and espcially after the devastating quakes. He explained that a tourist visits Nepal to trek the world’s highest mountains but they return because of the amazing people. He also urged the travellers to keep Nepal on the top of their bucket list. Here’s what he originally wrote on the post shared with 4.9 million followers of Nat Geo Travel along with this photograph: cover “I miss Nepal. There are some places that stay with you for a really long time. For me, Nepal is one of them. I hiked to Everest Base Camp way back in 2007, it has haunted me ever since. This is a fascination course which visits the three peaks of Manaslu, known as "The Japanese Peaks". It is a well-loved trek from Gorkha to the Budhi Gandaki, Passing through a huge precipitous valley to the contrasting world of Sama, crossing snow-covered Larkya La, and descending to the Marshyangdi river. Sama, before you cross the pass, is ideal for this, you can enjoy strolling about the glacial lake and Pungen Glacier there.
Tsum Valley Manaslu trek is a hidden treasure trekking destination in Nepal . This trekking region is Culturally rich and extremly beautiful himalayan scenery can be seen. it is a sacred Himalayan pilgrimage and untouched valley situated in northern Gorkaha district of Nepal.
The trek ascends follow BuriGandaki River. Tsum valley (part of the Inner Himalaya) opens from Chhokangparo, where hospitable local people (Tibetan group "Tsombo") welcome you with traditional Tibetan Chiya (butter tea) and local meal. The Tsum Valley is extremely rich in cultural assets. The valley is dotted with gompas (Buddhist monasteries), chortens and mani walls. The longest mani walls (over 250m) are at Dzong and Phurpe. The valley preserves steps of the great Buddhist Yogi ChyuchinMilarepa and story about Guru Padmasambhavacircumbulation.The people here never slaughter animals, even as sacrifice to the gods.TheTsum Valley is surrounded by the Buddha Himal and HimalChuli to the west, Ganesh Himal to the south, and SringiHimal to the North. The Tsum valley trekking lies in Manaslu region .This trek can be combined with Larkya La pass ,The attractive views of Himalchuli (7893m.), Manaslu 8163m, Ganesh Himal, NgadiChuli (7879m.) or (peak 29) and other mountains, beautiful varied landscape and different flora and fauna and wonderful. 03 Kathmandu-Arughat Bazaar and trek to Sotikhola 730m:  The trail will normally follow the Budigandaki. Over night at a small village nest to the river.

04 Trek to Tatopani( hot spring)-Dovan 1070m approx 6 hrs: The trail follow the river with its nice fast flowing view. Before getting to Dovan the trail will pass the Natural Hot Spring (You can have a short break to enjoy if you wish).  Stop over at this village.

05 Dovan-Jagat- Philim, 1570m: The trail will follow the trail. You have to cross the river before arrive at Jagat. You permit will be checked at Jagat. Have lunch and continue to Philim.

06 Philim-lokpa- chumling 2386m (Tsum Valley): You are already benefiting a elevation, the mountain have started to be seen. The people and cluture are different. You will see Tibetan culture, Mani wall, prayer flags, Chortens or etc. You are already entered in to Tsum Valley.

07 Chumling-Chhekampar -Rachen Gompa 3240m(Tsum Valley): This is a bit hard day compare to the other day. The mountain views are amazing, people and culture are changing more like Tibetan. Visit Rachen Gumpa and observe the life around.

08 Chhekamparo - chele/Nile - Mu Gompa 3700m (Tsum Valley): Trek to Mu Gumpa. Enjoy the view of Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and other Himalayan peak.

09 Mu Gompa to Dumje 2485m (Tsum Valley): The trek starts to return to the Larkya pass trail. This is easy day compare to the previous day.

10 Lokpa - Deng 1860m (Continue to Larkya pass trail): Trek will start after breakfast as other days. The last pert of the trek is bit steep climb.

11 Deng- Namrung 2630m: The trail mostly passes through the forest. It requies to cross the River few times and finally hiking a last steep part, arrive in Namrung village which has a good view of mountain.

12 Namrung-Lhogaon- Samagaon 3520m: We climb steadily and pass through forests and reach Lihi, a fine village with many chortens and barley terraces. The best view of Manaslu can be seen form Lho has a famous Ribung Gompa.

13 Explore the Sama Gaon (Acclimatization) : We spend the day at Samagaon both for rest and acclimatization. Today, we get acquainted with the rich Sherpa culture of thousands of mani stones. On a little hill near the Sama village is an old Gompa (Pungyen Gompa), a monastery with great views of the glacier

14 Samagaon- Samdo 3875m: Climb a terraced hill on the opposite bank of Budhi Gandaki from here toward a most remote permanent settlement - Samdo. Here amid the most sever condition of nature live some 200 villagers in forty houses.

15 Samdo- Dharmasala 4460m ( Larkya La Phedi): Dharmasala has basic lodgistic facilities. You have to enjoy being here. You should sleep early and warm. Tomorrow is  a big day of your trek..

16 Dharmasala- Larkya La pass 5160– Bhimtang 3590: Wake up early in the morning and have a quick breakfast. The trek Climb slowly toward Cho Canda and continue on to further ascending steep uphill heading to Larkya la (5135 m.). Magnificent view of Himlung Himal (7126 m.), Cheo Himal, Gyaij Kang, Kang Guru (7010 m.) and Annapurna II are visible from here. It is steep descent again on the other side of the pass covered with full of snow. At Tangbuche, you descend again toward Bimtang.

17 Bhimtang- Dharapani 1963m: The trek descend down following the Dudh Khole. Lunch at Tilije a small village. Enjoy the view of Himalchuli and Lamjung Himal.

18 Dharapani- Bahun Danda 1310m: The trek follows the Ragging Marshyangdi river valley. Now you will be passing with different type of people (Gurung and other mixed) and culture (Hindu and Buddhist mixed).
