Bus Service

Overview

Nepal's major tourist hubs — Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan, and Lumbini — are well connected by daily tourist bus services, offering a comfortable and affordable alternative to flying or private hire. Operators run VIP/sofa and deluxe coaches on the main routes: Kathmandu–Pokhara (6-7 hours), Kathmandu–Chitwan (5–6 hours), Kathmandu–Lumbini (7-8 hours), Pokhara–Chitwan (4 hours), Pokhara–Lumbini (6 hours) and Chitwan–Lumbini (4 hours). Most buses depart early morning (around 6:30–7:30 AM) from tourist bus parks, with tickets bookable through online platforms. Fares and travel times can shift with road conditions, seasonal demand, and ongoing highway upgrades, so it's worth confirming current schedules before booking.
