Over 13,500 pilgrims visit Kailash Manasarovar via Rasuwagadhi border

RASUWA: A total of 13,523 religious tourists traveled to Tibet’s Kailash Manasarovar through the Rasuwagadhi border crossing in Fiscal Year 2025/26, an 18.75% increase over the previous year.

Pilgrims favoring the route over the more expensive Humla crossing drove the growth.

Overall border traffic rose 20.74% to 53,742 total crossings, led by 24,278 Indian nationals.

The surge occurred despite the checkpoint operating for only seven months following flood repairs to the Miteri Bridge.

Conversely, tourist travel through Rasuwagadhi to Lhasa and the Chinese Everest Base Camp dropped sharply to 626 and 22 visitors, respectively. >> Read More
